What is THON?
THON is a year-long effort that raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. With the support of students from all across Pennsylvania, and THON Alumni all around the world, we continue to make great strides towards finding a cure for all childhood cancers!
Dancer Point System
We have a dancer point system in order to provide every active THON member a fair and unbiased opportunity to dance in THON. No one will enter the year "guaranteed" a dancer spot, and no one will enter the year with no chance of getting a dancer spot. Learn more about the THON Dancer Point System.
The Four Diamonds Fund
The Four Diamonds Fund is the sole beneficiary of THON's fundraising efforts. The Fund offsets the cost of treatment that insurance does not cover, as well as expenses that may disrupt the welfare of the child. The Fund supports the medical team that cares for the children and funds pediatric cancer research through start-up grants and the Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Institute.
The Beltz Family
Many of the organizations that support THON adopt a Four Diamonds Family to provide mutual support, inspiration, and encouragement. The Tennis Club has partnered with the Beltz Family and their Four Diamonds child, Xander. In April of 2014, Xander will be 5 years cancer free! This means he will be considered cured from leukemia! Xander has a younger sister, Jacalyah, who is in middle school and loves scary movies and making bracelets. His loving parents, Dava and Dave, have supported THON for years and love to host canning trips! We cannot wait to see them this year and dance in celebration with them.
